Have you checked you page size in the PageStream printer settings?
What I find is that every time I switch from my (normally used) HP Laserjet 4P
to my (occasionally used) Epson Stylus Colour 600 the paper size defaults to
an American standard size which is less tall than A4. So if you are changing
from your 'normal' printer to the STFax virtual printer you may be losing your
A4 setting.
