Ahh, that's an possible explanation for the problem. I've checked the
squashed faxes and most of them are really short, mostly for test purposes
and all are received in independent mode. The faxes wich are correct in size
are all at least one full page or more.

Yep, this could be really helpful!!! In most cases is the squashing clearly
visible, but I've some faxes, wich I've saved as IFF and then stretched with
a image-processing-program and suddenly..iiieks, this was squashed too! ;)
With a resolution-swapper in the faxviewer it could be easily checked if
the fax is right in size or not.
