This happened a couple of times to me, but on a (seemingly) random basis. I
was never able to pin point the cause, but I altered my modem timeout prefs
to a smaller amount, and that seemed to cure it ;)

OTOH OS 3.5 seems to take forever to uniconify STFax4.1, because the disk
seems to be chugging away. I've tried using Snoopdos to see what it's
doing, but nothing shows up!

As a side result of this, Neil Bothwick's script to record phone numbers
etc doesn't work any more, on my system :((

I use a PACE 56k modem & you can see my .sig for my system, if that's of
any help.
