One of my two long-standing experimental patches, which depends on git
1.5.6, is now in my safe branch, since 1.5.6 is sufficiently ancient
by now. (The other one requires 1.6.1, which is not yet in debian
stable, but they're currently in freeze, so hopefully not much longer
now...)
I've been running with this patch for I don't know how long, so it's
quite stable at least for me.
