Looks good but, could you please first write and post the formal man page section for this new option just to make sure we all understand each other perfectly? Notably: what happens to the index? About the name of the option: I think "--spill" makes sense only by way of analogy with the "stg delete" command. From a user interface perspective I find it a bit awkward to have the meaning of a command somewhat "depend" on the understanding of another command. How about: "stg refresh --undo <files>" or "stg refresh --reset <files>" instead of "--spill"?
