Job Posting: Finance Administration Officer Peace Brigades International Indonesia Project Location: Indonesia Project office in Jakarta, Indonesia Background: Peace Brigades International (PBI) is a grassroots, non-partisan human rights organisation dedicated to the nonviolent transformation of conflicts. Upon request, the PBI Indonesia Project (IP) sends teams of international volunteers to Indonesian conflict zones where they provide protective accompaniment to local human rights defenders threatened by political violence and repression. Other PBI projects are located in Colombia and Mexico. In 2001, as we celebrated our 20th anniversary, PBI was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Responsibilities Under the supervision and in coordination with the Project Coordinator, Finance Coordinator and Human Resources Coordinator undertake initiatives directed by the Project Committee. Manage local Indonesia Project finances Manage Indonesia Project local (Indonesia based) bank account and bank cards, organize transfers Pay Indonesia Project bills and maintain cash flow Pay team stipends, holiday pay and repatriation allowances Maintain weekly finance reports for Indonesia Project expenses, audit team member finance forms, reconcile bank accounts and send bi-weekly project and team finance reports to finance coordinator Manage documents and data for team members: Volunteer contract Health insurance forms and claims forms Emergency contact form Database of start and end dates, visa renewal, holidays and evaluations Copy of passport, including current visa page Current photo Travel Arrangements Arrange travel itinerary and purchase air tickets for team members travel to and from team locations and for other team travel including visa renewal trips and travel to PBI meetings. Assist future team members at language school with travel arrangements to and from Jakarta. Language Skills Assist team in Indonesian language skill upgrading Assist team in preparation of Indonesian correspondence. Other duties Assist in logistics for project meetings, conferences and workshops. General Maintain regular contact with project coordinator and human resources coordinator. Provide monthly reports on work. Adhere to PBI Indonesia Projects Mandate, Principles and Working methods. Qualifications: Essential: proficient in Excel Graduaded from Accounting Department (DIII/S1) experience in accounting (ie. experience with double entry accounting system, computer based accounting program knowledge, reconciling bank statements, reconciling petty cash) experience in administrative support excellent report writing and oral communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English functions well as a team player able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work well under deadline pressure problem-solving skills self-motivated, responsible, confident, flexible strong computer and internet skills (experience with Microsoft Excel and Word programs) commitment to nonviolence Desirable: previous experience with International non-governmental organizations experience in consensus decision-making Start Date: when filled Salary: Experience candidate: IDR 2.000.000 3.000.000 Length of Position & Hours of Work: 40 hours/week.
