PODGORICA, Saturday – Ten British Special Forces soldiers were killed
yesterday during a failed attempt to arrest former
Bosnian Serb wartime leader Radovan Karadzic, Podgorica daily Dan reported.
According to the daily, the action took
place either in the Bosnian town of Srbinje or just over the border in
northeast Montenegro. Karadzic is said to be protected
by well-trained soldiers. Dan reported that ten British Special Forces
soldiers were killed and two wounded. The British
troops involved in the action to arrest Karadzic are completely
off-the-books, Dan claims, and hence these soldiers could be
"killed without any reports of their death." Neither the British
government, Bosnia nor Montenegro have provided official
confirmation of the event. (SRNA)
