ed, I am not a harware purist, so...I don't know why you would even attempt
to install storm on the machine you describe (unless it's only for the
adventure of it, than I slightly understand). there's good reason the
documentation you have read only refers to 'newer' systems. main one being
hardware compatibility.

so, here's my suggestions to solve your problem:

step 1: place a classified ad in your local "recycled pc" rag.
step 2: figure out how much you would pay for such a machine, add 20% then
advertise this price.
step 3: hope that some non-profit or educational organization bite on your
offer, both never seem to want to pay for new equipment.
step 4: use this money towards purchasing a replacement machine...there are
lots
of good, low cost machines out there that are more suited for an OS like storm.

I have a storm machine with the following specs:

100 mhz 386 no name pc
1gig hard drive(scsi, of course)
32 megs of ram
CD(scsi)
3.5' floppy
cheesy trident video card / vga monitor
3Com Etherlink III nic

You can see it's slightly different than yours but not by much.

Of course, your other option is to salvage any useful hardware from your
current machine and build a new one(looks like you need a harddrive, cpu,
and cdrom (ditch the 5.25'!!!)...call your local PC shop and don't be
afraid to haggle on the price! I'd sell you my machine, but it's in
use...pretty heavily to0 and runs "like butta"!

thanx,

rob
