Please describe your video and network hardware.  These two
items seem to be the "problem" items for most installs. 
What selections are you using for video card, resolutions,
and monitor?  What network card are you using (if any). 
What modem are you using?  If you have Win9x on the machine,
did you check all your interrupts and DMA settings for
conficts.  Any ISA card hardware conflicts will also caust
install problems (e.g. modem IRQ and port settings).
