Sorry, I forgot to mention the modifying the apt sources.list otherwise it
would not be any harder than your solution and possibly easier to do.

NOw this would be pretty hard if the network is down and you didn't
modify your /etc/apt/sources.list
to install from CD(Storm default doesn't set it up),now wouldn't it?:-)
