So first I had installation "issues", then it was getting linux to
recognize my modem. Here's the latest (for those interested)...

When logged in as root, my modem works fine but when trying to
connect to my isp, i get past my username, password and then I
get a message like "Terminal 15 Unauthorized Access Prohibited"
followed by a
"slip-server>" prompt.
What's that all about -- I know I should go to the bookstore and by
that guide to debian/gnu linux -- I'm heading there this afternoon --
but anyone with an idea I would love to hear from you.

Second: I can't get linux to access my modem when logged in as
a user. It says "Sorry, can't open modem" -- all the settings in
kppp are identical to those in kppp when logged in as root. Is there
some way to perform "pppconfig" as a user? It worked so darn
nicely when logged in as root. :)

Third: It's wonderful that I am just about connected as root, but
linux won't let me open Netscape (stll when logged in as root -- it's
fine when I'm a user but of course problem #2 above halts that fun!)!
What's that about? Sometimes nothing at all happens, sometimes
I get a "Can't open for security reasons" reply. Harumph!

Again, any help would be incredibly appreciated! Thanks folks!
