Firstly, I am pleased to see this list up and running again.
You folks at Storm: having a user list down for over two
weeks is not good PR.
I hope you are addressing the situation.
Now the problem.
Apart from an on-board Intel CA810 SB sound system not
working, my Stormix was running fine.
That is, until I plugged in an Intel Express 10/100 NIC.
Now when I connect to my ISP and load Netscape, I get
heaps of messages telling me that Netscape cannot find
home.netscape.com or my mail or news service etc. etc.
Everything works fine with win/ie.
Dmesg reports the card correctly and it passes the boot
diagnost. The NIC is allocated IRQ 11, which I think is the
same IRQ as my non-working sound.
As soon as I unplug the NIC, everything is back to normal.
