mount -rw -t ext2 /dev/fd0 /floppy

shold do it.
You can try with auto instead of ext2 and see what you get.

Yes, that did the trick, but perhaps some-one can tell me why the
floppy format is different from v1 to v2, and even perhaps, how it is
different?
