I recently backed up my files and reinstalled with Storm Deluxe. I'm
really pleased with it. it is really exciting to see so many
improvements in the recent distro, and the Storm SAS modules really made
installing hardware relatively painless compared to before.
I have an internal Actiontec Call Waiting Modem. It works great with
Linux (the Actiontec web page even has instructions on how to install it
with Storm). In the SAS dialup module I have selected redial after
connect = no.
The Storm dialer works great and was easy to get working as well,
although I have a problem with two bugs. I am not sure if they are
particular to my modem, or if this is a general problem. First, the
"minimize on connect" selection doesn't work. Secondly, if I select
"disconnect" it disconnects and immediately tries to redial. If I
select the disconnect button while it is trying to redial, or if I try
to close the dialer program, then KDE crashes, and I am left with the
Storm login screen for KDE. The only way to disconnect without crashing
KDE is to close the dialup program without hitting the disconnect
button.
Has anyone else seen this problem (or have a simple fix?)?
It would also be nice if Storm would include a few other options in
their dialer, such as a debugging screen and an optional window that
would show graphically the transfer rate over time (as is in kppp).
