Ok, in terminal mode I can now mount and unmount to my heart's desire..
I've attempted to add a drive icon on the desktop per Glen Snyder's
instructions, but I'm using GNOME instead of KDE and some of the things
that he mentioned, I cannot find.. but, I'll do this little project one
thing at a time.. Here are my questions:

1- in the home directory folder on the desktop, I do not see the /zip100
directory that I created.. how do I get it in there?

2- somehow, I lost the GNOME toolbar that runs across the bottom of the
screen [also, at the same time, I lost the menu that ran across the top of
the screen too.. that one had, Programs, Favorites, etc.]

3- I need a GNOME version as to how to add a drive icon to the the desktop
for my Zip100.. [just like the one for floppy and cdrom]

anyone that can answer these questions for a SUPER Newbie [that's me] will
get a personalized Hallmark card with my gratitude!!... thanks!!
