Actually the link you gave me helped. I can do the following from the
Command Line:

$ XAUTHORITY=~/.Xauthority sas

and that will run the modules. If I set XAUTHORITY first and then run sas
separately (either from the command line or the GUI) it does not work. So
even if I were to set XAUTHORITY in login script or some such, it would not
work.

I note that XAUTHORITY is not being set at all when I startx.

yes, I'm a tad miffed. This should be an easy fix and considering it was
pointed out during beta testing by a SEVERAL people, it should have been
fixed, or a fix posted!

What's up Stormix? Why hasn't this been addressed or at least acknowledged
that you're working on it?
