ok, how does this sound then.
I have 3 drives in the computer
hda - 30 gig ide
hdb - 5 gig ide
hdc - 3 gig ide
Currently I would like to have
hda - divided into 3 linux installs.
1 - Storm
2 - Mandrake
3 - Red Hat
* 2 and 3 may change - these are just flavor of the
month installs or something to play with.
hdb part of a SusE install
hdc part of a SusE install
I had previously had these setup like this.
hdb /hdb1 /boot (15meg min. it would let me)
/hdb2 /usr (5 gig usr space)
hdc /hdc1 /swap (128meg)
hdc /hdc2 / (root)
each of the installs on hda were setup the same as
above.
Now from all the information I am getting I am
thinking I should be doing something like this.
hda - lilo on MBR
/hda1 - /boot (larger about 30meg - with
subdirectories for 4 installs. Each one containing the
Kernel of the various install)
Is this possible? does lilo ver. matter here? if all
are loaded under the same boot loader??
I would really like to learn this.. and it would seem
like this should not be a problem. Funny thing with
these lists (no matter computers, linux, motorcycles)
you hear 7 ways to do 1 thing and if you had to ask in
the first place then your not sure which is the
correct way to do it.
Thanks.
