I'm not an expert, but I think both of you are describing Balsa...
GNOME mail client. I think the memory footprint is around 6 megs, just
the features you need, with no bloat. It's got filter options in the
menu, but they don't seem to work. I'm not sure about your threading
requirement. It caan use the same mailboxes that mutt uses, so if you
want mutt also, they work fine together. Of course, if GNOME's not your
bag, well, maybe it's not for you.. just my 2 cents :)
