I am trying to get my usb scanner to work. I am using the following page as a resource http://utopia.knoware.nl/~joey/linux/acerscan.htm . The information on this page tends to be ambiguous, so I feel that I may be chasing my tail, but I am not ready to beg for help yet, but I am wondering... if you have a ACER 640U ScanPrisa, and have successfully got it working please post any hints that may be helpful. Thanks. **********backspace*************** read page 298 of Running Linux 3rd ed. It is a simple sol'n and worth your while. *********Good Book***************** I know this subject has been beat to death but; A linux book which is great to have for anyone (and a lot cheaper) is Linux System Commands by Pat Volkerding (of Slackware fame), and Kevin Reichard, M&T publishers. This book is no replacement for a Debian educational book, but is setup as a dictionary or linux commands, their command line arguements and switches/options. It retails for $20USD, and $30CAD. I have 3 Linux books. All are very used. 1. mentioned above. 2. Running Linux, O' Reilly. 3. Learning the Bash Shell, O'reilly. Pretty much covers everything. I may look into Debian Bible (hear good things about Bible books) when it comes out, if it covers wu-ftp. thats my $0.02 (when did we lose the cents key?) ps-please speak out if you have a ACER 640U Later Shea Martin ~~~~~~~~~~~ Duke of Silton & Earl of S'toon ########### _______________________________________________ Stormlinux-users-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.stormix.com/community/lists/listinfo/stormlinux-users-list
