Yesterday I finally fixed an installation problem and installed Storm Linux.
I was happy. Storm Package Manager seemed to work well, I downloaded many
packages and had no problems using them. Today I have a problem. Whenever I
try to install a package, it successfully downloads all required packages,
then gives an error message to the effect of "failure to correct missing
packages", then returns to the main window without installing anything.
However, if I go to the directory where the packages are downloaded, I am
usually able to install with "dpkg -i" with no problems. (I say "usually"
because I haven't figured out how to go about replacing a package upon which
other packages are dependent)
Of course, this has to be done package by package, so I have to figure out
which packages need to be installed in what order, etc.
I'm pretty sure apt-get produces the same error message as SPM, but I can't
recall exactly at the moment. But it might not neccessarily be a problem on
SPM's side. I don't know what I could have changed that did this.

Any ideas?

Also, if I click Remove or Purge a package in SPM, it instantly closes. I do
not know if this was there before, as I did not try it before encountering
the first problem.

SPM is one of the main reasons I'm installing Storm rather than Debian. I
would REALLY like it to work. The interface seems very nice (I haven't
figured out how to properly use dselect yet).
