I have just done an apt-get upgrade to version 4
and am now in a heap of trouble.
The download and upgrade went smoothly, but when I
rebooted!!
Firstly, it booted to the text screen
only.
I logged in as root, and when I tried startx, it
couldn't find XF86Config.
I copied my working /etc/X11/XF86Config to
/etc/XF86Config, as per the unable to find message.
Running startx took me to the Debian window
manager.
I rebooted and Storm gdm started, but it does not
accept either root or user passwords.
Ctrl-Alt-F1 takes me to text console and permits a
root login.
Some suggestions, PLEASE!
