No no no. I mean litterally wip out to the console, not an xterm.
Ctrl-alt-f2 to go to a console and then see if the mouse moves. If not, the
problem is with the gpm setup and will need to be modified. It appears as
your X is using the gpm repeater /dev/gpmdata so if gpm is messed up, so
will your X.
As for the KDE stuff, can't help you. I use Gnome instead of kde. Try
kde.org for more info.
