an absolutely brilliant motherboard which i have now introduced to 3 of the
single processor backup servers where i work is the ABit KT7-RAID

it supports UDMA100 (im sure) along with hardware IDE Raid, supports up to
1.5GHz SocketA and is pretty much everythign you need, the only problem i
have ever had with it is having an old legacy hardware modem plugged in the
ISA slot (it never worked, but the machine booted ok)
otherr than that, 10/10!

Subject: [SLU] socket A, m/b recommendations

I am in the market for a new mo/bo. It will definitely be a Socket A,
ATX. Is it worth it to pay the extra $50 for UDMA 100? Does UDMA 100
work with linux 2.2? 2.4?

I have read many tests (Windows based) stating that the performance
increase is marginal.  What will make UDMA 100 reach its potential;
better drivers, or is it mostly hardware to blame?

If you have any suggestions or comments on a good Socket A mo/bo let me
know.

Let the flames begin.
