Well my I think you may have misunderstood my previous posting, or maybe I
failed to word it correctly. So let me try to clarify why I mentioned a
migration to another distro.
I mentioned if all else fails and its no longer feasible then I would make a
migration. Without this list, I would be out of luck. I read what is
posted -print some of it-save to disk some of the threads since I joined.
Reason being is to learn. I enjoy learning. I don't mind having to do a
re-install of an os. I've done it a ton of times to help me learn things.
Some read- and learn that way. other's do it hands on. Me I like to read it-
then apply it. If something goes wrong then I try to fix it. If it's still
is on the fritz then I re-install and go back to step 1. (yes I have a
little stand alone I do this on )
This list is where I find my support for Stormix- or I go to X-Chat to get
help, I haven't found many on there who use Storm. All of which provide me
with a great deal of insight from others. Now should this list go down- or
Storm go under where and how would I get help. I would manage as best I
could -( Now that I know what book to get that helps also ) Easiest thing
in the world to do is quit, and that's the lame way out in my opinion. I
would plug at it until I just didn't have the knowledge or assistance to
help me continue. If this was a car - I could take it to a shop and have it
worked on, if I couldn't do it myself. But once you get to the point where
an item is discontinued then what- where do you go - what do you do. how do
you get help. Then one has to ask themselves is it beneficial to continue
driving it?
If this list should go what then- where do we go. How about a few members
from this list who have a great deal of experience or know how with Stormix
form like a web ring or another form of listing. I enjoy Storm Linux- and
I'm having a blast learning it. If anyone decides to form a backup group
for Stormix, I would love to sign up for it. Now if there is something out
there that I'm not aware of please feel free to bring it to my attention ads
I would like to partake in the activities.
As a newbie I would love to learn about the networking side of Storm.
Running a network off of a Storm server vs. WinNT. How it handles
throughput, security issues-mail servers-web servers. All of the above and
then some. That's basically why I got into Linux- To make a move from WinNT
environment.
My quote of the day
"Amazing what a group of people can accomplish when working together and no
one cares who gets credit"
> I must say switching to SuSE from Stormix will be a huge
> disappointment. If youhave Storm running well for you, it will
> always run well. Keep it up to date with apt-get and have your

> There's never a need to switch. I can't understand why you would.
