Thanks Mircea- What I'm looking to do is run the Storm Firewall as exactly a
firewall nothing else. I've removed such issues in the install like
apache-ftp-telnet server etc. The box should run just as a firewall. Being
this is a first for me with Linux, I'm sifting through the install packages
to see what to add -delete etc. This box will be up in a lab before being
brought out for my home network. From the home I'll have one server and a
few work stations up. The SOHO will consist of various win units 98-2000Pro,
Stormix, and the Firewall.
Currently I'm looking at running the Storm Firewall-Tripwire-and Snort.
Thanks to the feedback I received over the past few hours - I now know where
to look for a book -some info on securing my box- changing my time- how to
do the apt-get, another list for Storm users (should this one go down) and
some info for wireless. I tell ya this list is great!! Man this is truly a
great community.
