Because JSP's shouldn't be accesed directly and only should be accessed as a forward result from action bean (so action bean is already in request). Steps looks smth like 1. Access action bean via actio bean mapping http://my.site.com/MyActionBean.action (or customize by @UrlMapping) 2. forward from there to JSP -- Best Regards Evgeny K.
