Stripes community: I hope this does not break a rule to
post an opening we have -- I'm trying to reduce the
national unemployment rate, one over-qualified engineer
at a time. My sincere apologies if this shunned upon.
We are a stripes shop, and while the learning cure is
low in general for stripes, I'd like to bring in someone

Modernizing Medicine is looking for a Java Web Developer
who has a passion for creating intuitive applications
that will change the way that thousands of physicians
practice medicine. You will be working in an energetic,
dynamic, and highly creative environment along with a
group of highly talented, passionate, and successful
individuals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop intuitive, reliable, low latency, high
performance front end web applications.
• Interpret business and functional requirements into
a design solution.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements
and efficiencies and drive adoption of high priority
high value improvements within the team.
• Manage time effectively with minimal supervision
to accurately scope projects and ensure that projects
release on-time.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong Java Object Oriented design and development skills.
• 4+ years’ experience in launching interactive web apps.
• Experience developing web applications with one or
more programming languages.
• Fluency with Java MVC frameworks
(Stripes desired, Spring acceptable)
• Expert understanding of Web Standards
(HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, Web Services).
• Use of ORM frameworks
(Apache Cayenne desired, Hibernate or the like acceptable)
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Experience with “Web 2.0” application frameworks and
patterns: DHTML, AJAX, YUI
• Experience with Agile or XP methodologies or
related iterative development processes.
• In-depth experience developing numerous web-based applications.
• Demonstrated use and knowledge of design patterns.
• Ability to communicate to all levels of users
(internal and external).
• Strong problem solving skills, adaptable,
proactive and willing to take ownership.
• Strong commitment to quality, architecture and documentation.
• Knowledge of web security highly desired.
• Use of Software Development Lifecycle tools
(Perforce, JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
