The usual answer to "How do I set the default values for a form" is of course, set them in the form. In order to maximise reuse I usually (although am slack when deadlines approach) use the same form for first time user registering info and for returns to edit same info. That means that I would NEVER use the default value. so, is there any point in it being there? if so, would the solution necessarily require a bit of java script? because I am starting to explain to clients that struts 1.1 requires javascript supported and no disabled in the browser. chanoch -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:struts-dev-unsubscribe@;jakarta.apache.org> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:struts-dev-help@;jakarta.apache.org>
