Do you think we could promote the install text file to another section
in the installation.html and call it "Installing Struts on Specific
Platforms". I think what we have now might work very well if we just
put it all together (which of course I could do).

Do you think we could modify the build routine to create a plain text
version of installation.html (++install). I realize this would be on
the Web site too, but it might be a nice touch to have it all there in
plain text to read before installing. (Enclosed please find our video
tutorial on how to setup your VCR ;-)

What I've been envisioning is a "generic" section that talks about
installing
all of struts (including the newest apps that are not covered in the
historical
document), followed by a section or page that discusses the quirks of
running
Struts under particular platforms (and sometimes even versions of
platforms -
for example, the entry for Tomcat should include the info to not bother
with
3.1.).

So, it would seem reasonable to update the generic stuff that currently
exists
once, and have the platform related stuff deal only with exceptions or
special
notes.
