Reloading ActionServlet configuration

Since the reload() method has been removed from ActionServlet effective 1.1b2 I am trying to find an alternative way of 'reloading' the configuration on-the-fly. Simply calling init() again or destroy() and then init() does not seem to work. Also, the destroy() method doesn't seem to be completed yet.

Does anyone have any suggestions??
