http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=26678 <html:text> tag must support formatting (format and formatKey attributes) [EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |DUPLICATE ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2004-02-05 12:27 ------- We haven't provided the functionality because no one has volunteered code that proves the feature can work without the side-effects James and Martin mentioned. If you have a working solution that avoids these problems, then attach it to ticket #17391. I very much doubt that we would implement a feature that encourages people to use binary types on an ActionForm and then use them for data-entry via the html:tags. I would agree with James and Martin in that formatting data is out of the scope of the html:* tags. [I'm not altogether convinced we should even support it with bean:write :)] If people want to use the framework in ways other than intended, that's up to them. But we must be very careful that the features we add to the core encourage best practices rather than "disputable" practices. Otherwise, we create a support burden for the many kind volunteers who offer people assistance on the USER list. If you want to discuss this further, please open a thread on the DEV or USER list. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 17391 *** --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
