Christoph, I had exactly the same problem and this was happening because ...- see the answer from Cedric below. What I did for my case was to forward the control in the Action class to the template ( return (new ActionForward("/company.jsp")); company.jsp is the template). So you can call the .do file from the directly and you will get the template. I haven't used tiles yet, but I'm working on them.
