There is now a TilesPlugin for struts1.1. This plugin takes in charge the TilesRequestProcessor initialization. It is not anymore mandatory to specify the TilesRequestProcessor. Also, it is not needed anymore to use the ComponentActionServlet as servlet. You can just use the Struts servlet. The new plugin and TilesRequestProcessor work with struts multi modules (sub-applications). The tiles documentation uses one module called "examples".
