there's a post about this every couple of days-- right now, I think the best practice is to use ant or some tool to merge specific properties to shared ones at build time-- I don't think there's any way to do it otherwise. Eddie Bush has proposed a solution using the default application, but I'm not sure if he's submitted a patch that does it or not...
