Ah! I had to read your message again to see that what you had showed were various attempts at setting the request parameter 'operation' to null.
I would suggest overriding OneForm's reset() method and set the property 'operation' to null in it. Let me say in passing that it isn't a good idea to chain actions. There are other -- more robust -- means to achieve the same ends. This is a discussion in itself that has been given quite a bit of attention on this list in the past and so I won't go into it at length.
