I'm assuming the hashtable is referenced in the class as a static member. Since it's static, it is alive and referenced when the TemplatesCache class is loaded (which happens the first time you invoke the static getInstance() method. I really don't see how the hashtable could be garbage collected in this case. What type of errors are you getting?
