That is the weird thing is that there really is no error it just doesn't
shutdown. I am in debug mode. We may move to Tomcat 4.1.18 as time
permits. Does Tiles register itself with tomcat? It almost seems like
tomcat gets the shutdown command notifies any client, tiles perhaps, and
tiles ignores it.

Is Tomcat 4.1.18 a lot faster?

That's a pretty ambiguous error. Are you using any other technologies in the
webapp other than struts? Do you have tomcat set to full debug mode? Maybe
you can get more info. Also, have you tried Tomcat 4.1.18?

Subject: Can't shutdown tomcat 4.1.12 due to struts webapp

I am using struts 1.1b3 and tomcat 4.1.12.

I have 2 webapps and one is a struts implementation. If I execute
shutdown.sh to try and stop tomcat it does not stop. I know that struts is
causing this because when I removed the struts webapp it shutdown correctly.
The following is the entry in the catalina.out file after I execute
shutdown.sh.

Stopping service Tomcat-Standalone

Thanks for any help,
