The html taglib would not evaluate a
bean:write tag within the onclick event.  That's why I had to add the
bean:define and a setKey() javascript function.

Do you mean something like this didn't work:


<html:form onclick="<bean:write.../>">... ?

That's invalid JSP syntax and is not a defect in the html taglib or any other JSP taglib, the page compiler just won't compile it. You may have meant something else though...
