Also there is a very good (but more high-level than the Java Development with Ant book) chapter on packaging source code in "Agile Software Development: Patterns, Principles, and Practices" by Robert Martin. The chapter is length and in-depth and discusses some of the pitfalls to be avoided and patterns that can help in managing dependencies in source code.
