Maybe I am just a little naive about the topic, but I just read a tutorial on webwork2 and I see absolutely no reason why webwork has to exist. Of course there are great ideas in the implementation of webwork2, but I see no reason why they can't just be added to struts.

People who like webwork like it a lot, and some people who seem pretty smart are among those who like WebWork -- I agree that Struts should learn any relevant lessons from that project.
I have yet to make the time to really learn about WebWork myself, but maybe Don and Lars (see the link above) will save me the effort!
