Luciano, I waited a couple more days as you suggested. No mentor yet. I posted a separate email requesting mentorship. One more person replied with a negative. I went through the papers and code too much to ditch it half way through. Seems I'll be doing this Jira even if the mentoring doesn't work. But, it sucks that I got so close.
