The "5.55b1" version means that this is a beta version, it has not been
released yet. Once it is deemed ready (possibly after more beta
versions), it will be released as 5.55. As for what has changed, this
information is available at least in the ChangeLog file in the source
archive; I'm not sure if it is installed anywhere in a Windows build.

If 5.54 does not work for you, but 5.55b1 does, then 5.55, once it is
released, probably will. By the way, there is a second beta version,
5.55b2, available on the website right now.
