The ACPI idle code is disabled on SMP boxes. Line 838 of acpi_cpu.c.
Hmm. I don't see any specific code to force us onto cpu #0 for ioctls
or sysctls, but those do certainly run under the BGL. It would be
fairly easy to force those to run on cpu #0 if it turned out we needed
to.
