I pulled this little patch from OpenBSD to randomize mmap offsets as per request on projects page, described by http://www.openbsd.org/papers/auug04/index.html
More about this patch: this I386_MAX_EXE_ADDR is only used for openbsd's W^X i386 implementation, I think. The code is not really complicated, so I think we should add it. However, I think that it should be optional to switch on via a sysctl. Putting everything in kernel options makes everything so... bulky. Of course this sysctl would need to be guarded by securelevel. cheers simon -- Serve - BSD +++ RENT this banner advert +++ ASCII Ribbon /"\ Work - Mac +++ space for low €€€ NOW!1 +++ Campaign \ / Party Enjoy Relax | http://dragonflybsd.org Against HTML \ Dude 2c 2 the max ! http://golden-apple.biz Mail + News / \
