Dirk,

  The Uemis appears under drive J.  The only file visible is “SyncSDA” which is 
an HTML doc.  The computer does charge while hooked up.

Let’s collect some more information :-)

What drive letter does the Uemis appear under?
When you open that drive in the explorer, can you see the files in it? Can you 
edit the file H:\req.txt (or whatever the drive letter may be)?
