And by "it", I don't actually mean all of irda. irda is dead, dead,
dead. But maybe the actual individual driver that somebody is willing
to maintain, and a small subset of the stack.

The irda code deletion is commit d64c2a76123f ("staging: irda: remove
the irda network stack and drivers"), and it's a rather impressibe
number of garbage lines:

 137 files changed, 69241 deletions(-)

so I'm afraid that a potential maintainer would have to prune it down
to the minimal that he/she actually uses and can test.
