You are correct and I answered from memory instead of actually double checking.
When Transifex more or less forced us to switch to their git integration model
(ok, that's a bit unfair, but they made it a lot more painful to use the manual
push/pull model and at the same time impoved their git integration so much that
it made no sense to stick with the previous model), we apparently ended up with
a new resource name and I completely missed that.
I now deleted the outdated resources to avoid confusing myself and others.
It is indeed translations/subsurface_source.ts (master) [[ catchy name, ain't
it? ]] that is the correct one to translate for both desktop and mobile
versions.
