Not sure if it'll help, but you might try these suggestions: 1) login on VT 1 or 2 and stop X: sudo /sbin/initctl stop prefdm ...if this is enough, cool...but if not, you might consider 2) install compcache[1] > --Gary Martin 1. http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Compcache
