Video is, of course, the most "stressful" work one can ask of a system, and the most common YouTube codecs these days (On2 VP6 and H.264) are very processor-intensive.
Usually,the best workaround is to try to keep the framerate but downsize to postage-stamp. No idea how that could be done though.
