Just an FYI I am releasing a new Dextrose today. os4dx2 which will soon be available on wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Dextrose One feature is an updated cairo which seems to have decreased the render times. You might want to check it out. I have done some local testing and it seems much improved so might just render this a mute point.
